Zeta was one of the first donkeys to arrive at the sanctuary a number of years ago. She was actually abandoned at the gates of the sanctuary and wandered up the road in a very sorry state. She was wearing a foal head collar which had fused to her face having never been changed as she grew into an adult donkey. She was very thin, had a lice and worm infestation and had at some point in life had untreated pneumonia which had severe implications for her breathing. She is a beautiful, gentle girl and is firm friends with elderly mare Hilda and Hermione. The trio share a stable in the winter months and spend the summer wandering the paddocks together. Zeta will remain at the sanctuary for life as her many health issues make her unsuitable for rehoming. She enjoys a wonderful quality of life but will remain a ‘delicate girl’ for the rest of her life.
