Ways to Help
Donations can be made via PayPal/Stripe on our website and Facebook page or directly by post. Cheques made payable to Donegal Donkey Sanctuary.
Could you consider setting up a direct debit? Just €4 euro per week can mean an awful lot to a starving animal.
All donations go directly to care of the donkeys.
Adopt a Donkey:
Our donkey sponsorship scheme is one of our regular fundraisers. You can ‘adopt’ any of the four adoption donkeys – Teddy, Timmy, Binky, Zeta for just €25 per year. You will receive an adoption pack containing an adoption certificate, a photograph of your donkey, a fridge magnet and a letter outlining the donkeys life story to date. You may visit your adoption donkey or donkeys as often as you like at the sanctuary.
Donkey adoption packs make a wonderful gift for an animal loving friend, either for a birthday or maybe as a Christmas present!
Could you give a pair of donkeys a second chance at life? You need to have 1 acre of land, adequate shelter and a hard stand. Donkeys are usually fostered in pairs but occasionally a single donkey could be fostered as a companion for a donkey that you already own. Apply in writing to the sanctuary. Full details in the fostering section of this website.
Could you take a collection box to your workplace or even your home? Every cent counts and no donation is too small. Collection boxes are available on request.
Why not organise a fundraiser in your own area? You could have fun with friends while raising money for the donkeys. Here are some ideas:
Casual dress day at work
Car boot sale
We are constantly in need of volunteers for a variety of duties, such as:
Working directly with the donkeys, mucking out stables, brushing and grooming.
Help in gift shop/coffee shop.
Helping with administrative duties/website maintenance etc
Outdoor duties such as grass cutting, fencing etc
Give us a call or send an email if you have a few hours to spare ….
Visit our online shop for a special gift or just treat yourself. Lots to choose from with many items featuring the four adoption donkeys.
Please consider leaving something behind to care for those who cannot help themselves.
You could make such a difference by remembering these gentle creatures in your will. Thank you.
